Who doesn’t love a family bike ride on a warm summer night? It's what summer dreams are made of. Family bike rides are such a great way to get some exercise, get the kids out of the house and enjoy some scenery. Take that family bike ride to the Pa’Rus trail in Zion and what you get is pure summer magic.

I have three kiddos, a seven-year-old (Lucy), four-year-old (Willow), and one almost two-year-old (Phoenix). We could have loaded our bikes up and taken them with us on our adventure, but instead, we took the easy route and got our bikes and trailer at Zion Outfitter. When adventuring with kids, I am all about taking the easy route whenever possible. Getting out with kids is hard enough....right! Zion Outfitter is just steps from the Zion entrance which makes it such a dream to quickly rent your bikes and be riding the Pa’rus trail in a matter of minutes. We got a kids bike for Lucy and put Willow and Phoenix in a trailer.

The Pa’Rus trail is a relaxing and easy 1.7 mile (one way) biking and walking path that takes you along the Virgin River and ends at Canyon Junction. The trail starts at the Visitor Center and goes along the South Campground. It takes you over several bridges that cross the river, and there are numerous places to stop and let the kids play next to the river. We made just one stop to give Lucy a rest and let Phoenix and Willow out of the trailer to play in the sand.

Turns out with everyone on a bike or tucked away in a trailer you can cover some serious ground. I was shocked to realize how far we had gone when we pulled up to Canyon Junction. We are so used to it taking forever to get anywhere. When we are out on our hikes there are always rocks to pick up, sand to play in, flowers to pick and it takes forever to get where we are going. Bike riding just might be my new favorite family activity.

Next time you are visiting Zion with your family make sure to bring your bikes or rent some and bike this beautiful trail.
