Best Grub at SUNDANCE

We started our blog exactly 7 years ago. Since then we have traveled the State of Utah featuring the BEST Utah has to offer. And I feel confident in saying that Sundance takes the cake for best overall food!

We played hard and ate our hearts out over the 3 days that we were visiting. Below is our honest review. There was only one dish that I wasn't a fan of, everything else knocked my socks off with flavor & presentation, and overall exceeded my wildest expectations. Not to be dramatic or anything. But I've been wanting to eat at The Foundry Grill for years so my bar was set pretty high.

We ate several meals and each restaurant, so I will be splitting my review up by location. First up... Dinner at

The Foundry Grill

The esthetic of Sundance runs true blue through the entire resort and the entire experience. Down to the very last detail. You definitely get the feel that you are walking into an old time saloon, with dim lighting, snow covered window panes (in the winter months), large wood plank flooring, and quite possibly the best meal of your life.

We had the privilege of dining and hanging out with our friend Dan from Utah County. He is a Sundance expert and made sure we got the full Sundance experience.

For starters, we highly recommend the loaded mac, the brussels  (which we ordered both nights, upon request from my kids who loved them SO much), and my personal fave, the dirty fries. I have an mouth watering video of them in my IG highlights HERE.

First up, the Bison Ribeye which stole the show. Locke ordered it the first night and I sampled a bite and was blown away, so of course I had to order it the second night. I made a valiant effort to finish it but only made it about 3/4 of the way. Locke took one for the team and finished off the last quarter for me tho. Possibly the juiciest and most flavorful steak of my life. Just sayin. It was worth its weight in gold. This was definitely the crowd favorite with the Steelhead Halibut coming in a close second place.

The Flatiron Steak coming in hot tied for second place and was ordered both nights as well.

I didn't try the Margherita pizza but Dan and Breck raved about it.

Then as far as desserts go... This Apple pie Nacho plate was to die for. The crispy cinnamon and sugar crisps were my favorite part.

The kids were fighting each other for the campfire cookie. A chewy gooey chocolatey masterpiece!

And lastly, the Salted Oreo ice cream actually stole the show on sole fact that the flavor was mind blowing! Absolutely mind blowing. I hope its a regular on the menu so I can get it again on our next visit.

Back into the crisp mountain air. Berdee didn't bring a coat because she wears a one piece snowsuit which is BOMB for skiing and playing in the snow, but not ideal for running down to dinner lol. Next time we'll bring a spare coat.

We heard The Foundry Grill has a great Breakfast menu so we decided to try it out on our last morning in Sundance.

Breck loved the French Toast.

I ordered the Avocado Toast, I'm afraid it was a little too fancy for my liking. This was the only thing that I wouldn't reorder. Everything else was over the top amazing!

The Honey yogurt bowl definitely won the show. Everyone that ordered it loved it.

Breakfast with friends is ALWAYS fun! It was so fun meeting up with our friends Dan and Emily while we were in Sundance.

Dan and Dan!

The Lookout

This is definitely the spot to stop for a quick lunch when you need a break from the slopes. The food was made to order and fast! They BBQ right there on the patio and every single thing we tried was amazing!

Top picks were the short ribs. Oh My Gosh! Amazing!

The Pork Belly. Packed with flavor.

I love beet salads, this one was top notch.

And I didn't try the tacos, but they got rave reviews and were ordered 2 days in a row.

And you can't go to The Lookout and not get a giant cookie for the road.

The Deli

Located next to The Foundry, The Deli has awesome breakfast options for on the go. Also, this is where you can find the awesome giant cookies, morning buns (a flaky pastry covered in cinnamon and sugar that is to die for), and suckers (the kids souvenir treat for the road).

These were our top picks from our visit. We would LOVE to hear yours! Let us know if there is anything we need to add to our list for next time.
