Best Friends Animal Society | Wild Friends Tour | 12 Utah Staycations
While in Kanab, we were lucky enough to stay by the Best Friends Visitor Center, which then resulted in us booking a Wild Friends tour at the Best Friends Sanctuary! The Best Friends Sanctuary is HUGE! Be sure to plan for travel time, I think it took us about 15 minutes to get from Kanab to the Main Visitor Center at the Sanctuary and then another 7 minutes to get to the Wild Friends Building.
We chose to take the Wild Friends tour (45 minutes) because it was a shorter tour and with four little kids, I just didn't think we could do any longer. Wild Friends is an outside tour, so wear the right shoes!

We met at the main building and then walked around many of the enclosures, meeting mainly birds.
It seemed like lots of the enclosures were empty, since many of the animals were moved indoors for the winter.
The kids loved hearing and seeing so many different kinds of birds. It was a good educational tour for them. It's sad to hear that many people just abandon their animals, but super awesome that Best Friends can go and help the animals. Many of the animals are adoptable and the ones that aren't can live at Best Friends.
After our Wild Friends tour, we decided to hop on over to the Parrot Tour, but didn't stay too long. It was pretty crowded and indoors and our kids were going stir crazy.
We did get to see quite a few tropical birds just walking through the building.
If you are looking to volunteer or even adopt an animal be sure to check out Best Friends website for more information!
