Best Friends Animal Sanctuary Visitor Center | 12 Utah Staycations

I first heard about Best Friends Animal Sanctuary a years ago on TV. They used to have a show showing all about Dogtown. Best Friends Animal Sanctuary operates the nation's largest sanctuary for homeless animals. It's been on my bucket list ever since I saw it on TV! Luckily, our hotel the Holiday Inn Express was RIGHT next to the Best Friends Visitor Center (not to be confused with the Sanctuary) in Kanab. After a whole day of exploring, nothing is more relaxing than going and snuggling some kittens.

I took my little girls to go and visit the kittens every day that we were in Kanab. There's a kitten enclosure that houses kittens until they are adopted. You can go in and give the kittens some love. They even had puppies, parrots, and a few bunnies there that day.

You can also set up you Sanctuary Tour at the Visitor Center or you can do it online. The Grand Sanctuary tours are the main free tour most people do, it's a good overall tour. It's two hours and I didn't think our kids could last through it so we opted to do a shorter tour, Wild Friends. See the full list of tours here. Be sure to book ahead, if it's a busy season, they often fill up quickly! If you want, you can also go a volunteer too! (you need to schedule FAR in advance.)

We'll be sharing our Wild Friends Tour details here!
