7 FREE things to do with kids in Park City
1- Walk around the Mountain Village.
Bundle up and take a walk around the Mountain Village. We stayed here at The Lodge and the kids loved walking around and exploring. We found a couple ski lifts to play on and also walked around the Alpine Slide which had just closed for the season. There is also a charming ice skating rink but it wasn't quite cold enough for it to open. We hit Park City right between seasons. And it was perfect! There was hardly a soul in sight!
2- Explore Main Street
We found some great suggestions at www.StayParkCity.com for exploring Park City. Main Street did not disappoint. My oldest was in awe of the architecture. He mentioned several times how he wished he could meet the person that designed the buildings. All of the buildings are so charming. The city burned down around 100 years ago, only some of the brick structures survived. Luckily they stayed with the small town charm as they rebuilt. Even the new builds are charming.
3- Visit the Family Tree Center
Walk in and find your ancestors for FREE at the Family Tree Center! They have computers set up and ready. All you have to do is type in your name and they connect you to people from the past. Pretty cool. You can also get a FREE family photo just for stopping in and saying hi!
4- Ride the Trolley
You can catch the Trolley anywhere! Just raise your hand and they will stop and pick up you and your crew. It travels up and down main street and around the back so you can park in the FREE garage lot and ride the Trolley all day.
This awesome skier crash was on a building between the bus stop and the parking garage.
Don't forget the FREE Parking behind the Java Cow. (pictured below)

5- Hunt down Banksy!
This beautiful piece of art is located right around the corner from the Java Cow and the FREE parking lot.

6- Yabba Dabba Do, find the Flinstone Car
This charming replica is parked on the side of the road on your way to the Kimball Art Center. The kids had no clue what it was or anything about the Flinstones. We had a lot of explaining to do.
1800 Bonanza Dr, Park City, UT 84060
7- Visit the Kimball Art Center
1401 Kearns Boulevard, Park City, UT 84060
They have activities for the kids, beautiful art, and best of all its FREE! They do appreciate donations, and of course the kids LOVE putting money in the donation box.
We just happened to be there for their grand opening at their new location! They had amazing food, activities for the kids at every corner, and so amazing art on display.
Thank you for all of this
Thank you for all of this great information! I went to Park City with my family as a kid every summer of my childhood. To continue the tradition I am taking my family there next week, but wasn't sure what they would enjoy doing! All of this was so very helpful and makes us even more EXCITED for the trip!!
