The Pie Pizzeria | Grubbin' | Pi Day

Pi day is 3.14! If you go to The Pie Pizzeria on 3.14 you can get a voucher for a free pizza! (We've been the past couple years and I'm pretty sure it's a solid tradition.)

We love to celebrate this day with the kids, they are still a little young to understand the mathematical reasoning completely, but they get the connections, circle, circumference, pie, pi. It's all coming together. After another explanation at dinner tonight my 6 year old said "Ya, but why are we eating pizza instead of pie?" Then we had to explain it all again.

We always go out for pizza pie on Pi day, but this year I couldn't think of a better spot to celebrate pi day than THE PIE in Ogden!


The have amazing pizza! And as it turns out, their pull apart are just as good! I always like to try something new when we go out to eat and this was our first time having The Chedda Pull-A-Part. They kinda blew my mind! I'm still over here thinking about them and when I will get to eat them again. Order the The Chedda Pull-A-Part's and you can thank me later.

We also got a half chef salad and a large pizza (for a family of 6). The slices are huge and they LOAD on the toppings, I couldn't even finish one slice! And I usually eat 3 when we get pizza! If you have a big party, there is a 23" PIZZA!

Everyone loved it and we have an entire box of leftovers so I don't have to cook tomorrow (double bonus).


The Pie has a fun atmosphere, the Ogden location was very family friendly and the kids loved being able to write their name on the wall. They also loved spotting names of people they know.


They have a rotating seasonal special Pie every three months. I think I should set a goal to try all of them!

  • The Bacon Berry Pie 

Thin crust brushed with a sticky strawberry-balsamic sauce with oven roasted chicken, mozzarella, crisp bacon, sweet red onions and feta cheese baked and topped with chopped cilantro and fresh strawberries.

  • The Polygamy Porter Pie (available right now)

Made with dark roast Polygamy Porter beer dough, aged mozzarella, linguica sausage, red onions, crushed red peppers, sriracha-lime beer salt (around the crust) and finished with a sweet/sticky polygamy porter reduction

  • The Oktoberfest Pie 

Smoked brats & spicy link sausages, caramelized onions, sauerkraut, caramelized green apples, toasted caraway seeds, mozzarella, cheddar and a sweet Bavarian mustard/dill sauce swirled over the top.

  • The Chipotle Cheese Steak Pie  

Tender chunks of steak, fresh mushrooms, chipotle ranch sauce, aged provolone, diced onions, diced green peppers on a cheese spiced crust and served with a side of creamy horse radish on the side.

  • The Breakfast Pie 

Thin crust sprouted wheat dough with fluffy scrambled eggs, bacon, creole breakfast sausage, cheddar and mozzarella cheese, red onions and topped with Hollandaise sauce and a pure maple syrup swirl.

  • The Pie Carbonara

Parmesan cream sauce, crisp bacon, baby peas, aged mozzarella and fresh ground pepper baked on thin crust sprouted wheat dough.
